The national research institute for Mathematics and Computer Science in the Netherlands - CWI. CWI is funded for 70 percent by NWO, the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research. The remaining 30 percent is obtained through national and international programmes and contract research commissioned by industry. CWI is one of the founding members of the European Research Consortium for Informatics and Mathematics, ERCIM. The EWITA site was founded and created by David McAfee. He assembled a tremendous information resource for Enterprise Architects. Bredemeyer Consulting took over the site on June 1, 2001. We are cognizant that we have a responsibility to the community of architects that has come to view this site as a dynamic and useful point of reference. David set a high standard with frequent additions of content to the site, and we will be continuing this tradition.

The Software Design Group does research in many areas of software engineering, including: design languages and analysis, extraction of designs from code, checking conformance of code to designs, and automatic test case generation. Our philosophy is to couple lightweight design and specification notations with powerful tools. Much of our work in the last few years has revolved around Alloy, a declarative language for modelling software systems that manipulate complex structures, and the Alloy Analyzer, a SAT-based simulator and checker for Alloy. Alloy has been used to find flaws in published designs of several systems, and has been taught in over a dozen universities.
