PRESS RELEASE - PERSBERICHT

NanoWater 2004 Conference Presents Nanotechnologies that Offer Large Increases in Efficiency to Water Processes

The NanoWater 2004 Conference, scheduled for September 27th and to be co-located with the Aquatech Amsterdam Trade Show, Europe's largest water industry conference, will have presentations from companies that have commercially available technologies that provide enormous increases in efficiency to water processes.

Some of these technologies include:

Argonide Corporation in the US has commercialized a technology called NanoCeram, which retains 99.9999% of viruses, bacteria and protozoa such as Cryptosporidium at flow rates hundreds of times greater than other virus-rated ultraporous filters.

Inframat also in the US has developed a technology that employs interwoven nanofiber structures using manganese dioxide for removing arsenic from ground water. The porous "bird's nest" structure has a much larger surface area, allowing more arsenic to come in contact with it and be converted. Initial results have been outstanding and a filtration process is being developed that outperforms a benchmark material on the market today and meets the 10-ppb standard.

Nanosight in the UK has developed a system that can detect waterborne nanoparticles and viruses in "real time," which to date no one has offered.

The NanoWater 2004 has a speaker faculty consisting of leading large multi-national corporations that are employing nanotechnology in their processes, the cutting edge nanotechnology companies that are offering commercial products today, the top international research institutes, and the most aggressive investors in companies that are applying nanotechnology to water processes.

Speakers at NanoWater are: Kevin M. McGovern, Chairman and CEO of McGovern Capital LLC, Tim Harper, CEO, Cientifica, Executive Director, European NanoBusiness Association, Uri Sagman, Executive Director, Canadian NanoBusiness Alliance, Founder & Director, C Sixty Inc., David E. Reisner, President & CEO, The Nano Group, Inc., President & CEO, Inframat Corp., President & CEO, US Nanocorp, Inc., Fred Tepper, President, Argonide, Dr. Ir. Jeroen Boom, Project Design and Build Manager for Membrane Filtration, Rossmark Waterbehandeling B.V., Dr. Eric Mayes, CEO, NanoMagnetics Ltd., Dr. Philippe Rychen, Head of Environmental Systems, Centre Suisse d'Electronique et de Microtechnique (CSEM SA) and Diederik Jaspers, Senior Consultant, Altran Technologies Netherlands BV.
